  1. 1957: Establishment of Kisumu Extra Mural Centre.
  2. 2006: Purchase of the former British Council Library in Kisumu, now referred to as Kisumu Campus Complex, Oginga Odinga Street
  3. 2007: Introduction of Master of Project Planning and Management program by the College of Education & External Studies (CEES)
  4. 2008: Introduction of Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Administration Degree programs by the School of Business, College of Humanities and Social Sciences
  5. 2009: Introduction of Bachelor of Laws program by the School of Law to provide legal courses in the Lake Victoria region.
  6. 2011: Introduction of the PhD programme in Project Planning and Management by the CEES and the first batch of MBA graduands
  7. 2012: Ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the 16 story complex to enable consolidation of all programmes and activities in one place
  8. 2013:Introduction of Bachelor of Arts degree programme in Project Planning and Management
  9. 2013: Introduction of Masters in Early Childhood programme
  10. 2014: Successfully conducting the first SONU elections where the Campus Representative and Deputy, Congress and Faculty representatives were elected
  11. 2014: Introduction of Master of Science in Health Economics and Policy  by the School of Economics
  12. 2015: Introduction of Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education (Planning and Administration) programme
  13. 2015: Introduction of PhD in Business Administration programme by the School of Business to cater for the aspirations of the stakeholders in need of the PhD
  14. 2015: Appointment of a Director, Kisumu Campus by the Vice Chancellor to enable effective coordination of the campus programmes and activities
  15. 2015/2016: Performance Contracting:  The Campus signed the first Performance Contract with the University.
  16. 2016: Development of the Campus Strategic Plan:  In order to cope with the new challenges and still be able to offer quality education, research and outreach services, the Campus developed a Strategic Plan to take it to new heights.
  17. 2016: Development of the Campus Master Plan: In order to guide its long term goals and aspirations, the campus developed a 20 year Master plan that projects its growth and development path.
  18. 2016: Consolidation of all programmes at the Kisumu Campus Complex.
  19. 2016: Inspection and accreditation by the Commission for University Education.
  20. 2017: ISO 9001:2015 Certification
  21. 2018: Purchase of a new 62 Seater Campus Bus and a 14 Seater Van
  22. 2018: Establishment of offices of Research and Consultancy, Quality Assurance and Internationalization and Appointment of the respective Coordinators

2018: Inspection and Accreditation of School of Law by Council of Legal Education
