The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi, and the University of Nairobi Council members visited the Kisumu Campus on 12/11/2016 to assess the progress in the construction of the Kisumu Campus Complex. The event began with a meeting in which the Director and programme coordinators, Kisumu Campus, and gave a brief on the programmes offered at the Campus. Prof. Mbithi, who chaired the meeting, gave a brief on the construction of the Complex and expressed the University’s intention to further expand the Campus. He also appreciated the effort made by everyone who participated in making sure that the Complex’s progress is achieved in line with the requirements of the Commission for University Education (CUE).
The Vice Chancellor also led the team in inspecting, and assessing the progress of, the work on the ground. The team was impressed by the progress, especially with the readiness of the library, the computer lab and the lecture theatre/rooms. The Vice Chancellor assured the Council members that the Kisumu Campus Complex will be ready for inspection in two weeks’ time after the few pending works are completed.
