The University will, this year, host the 9th edition of the Annual Research Week with a twist. The Research and Innovation Week 2025 will be held on 21-24, October 2025. This edition has merged two annual events: The Annual Research Week and the Annual Nairobi Innovation Week.

This year’s theme, "Advancing Research and Innovation from Discovery to Impact in a Dynamic Global Landscape," captures UoN’s drive to translate novel discoveries into real-world solutions that address urgent global challenges.

The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Hon. Julius Migos Ogamba, officially appointed a new University Council for the University of Nairobi, as per the University Act for a three- year term. The appointments, which were effective from the 25th July 2025, mark a strategic new chapter in the governance and advancement of the University.
